Does a safe need to be anchored?

Yes. Every safe (wall models excepted) must be placed on the floor and anchored to a concrete surface — floor and/or wall — so it cannot be carried away in a burglary. Every safe ships with an anchoring bolt and has two anchoring holes: one in the base, one in the back wall.
